IN THEIR SEARCH
are you comfortable in the skin you're in?
these compound pieces and layers of another
a collage of worlds you acquired within
has made your path harder to discover
fighting yourself just to be accepted
by people who fear a stronger mind
your own decisions have been rejected
and now you're concealed in a lie
adapting ways that you follow blindly
as if who you are is wrong
neglection of desires eats away slowly
obsessed by the need to belong
expect nothing less from these mindless sheep
who lack any sense of originality
for these are the fields they have reaped
in their search for indiviuality

niiiice! don't follow the sheep - you'll just end up getting eaten by the wolf. My life was a lie for a long time - the ultimate people pleaser, a chameleon, my values, goals, opinions and actions constantly changing based on the people that happened to be in the room with me at the time. A sheep I was and then the wolf as well - both at the same time. it was not pretty. great write.
