a desolate heart stands alone

alone in an empty shell of a home

a home made for only one

the one who truly, wasn't the one

vices became your one true love

for my love just wasn't enough

enough to break a harmful chain

the chain of vices to which i blame

to these i can't quite compare

and compare to them i don't dare

i've only fought to help us grow

to grow with one, you'll never know

though these vices weigh you down

down to a level of unsturdy ground

my love wasn't strong enough to cure

a cure that only left ME hurt

i leave you now to find your way

the way out i hope you choose to take

because a girl can't feel second best

second best to what you love instead
