SCARS

          (Bryan Cook)

New love, like my addiction to pain
Dismembers my heart and
Short-circuits my brain

This love is coming down hard like rain
Leaves me struggling for the right words
Makes things hard to explain

Your love makes my life, seem worth living again
Makes my life seem important
Makes me WANT to maintain

My love for you, like a fuckin freight train
Is heavy on my heart
And will never be in vain

           (Angel Campbell)

New love can destroy the strongest soul
Assuming that dissappointments lye below
Because the past has provided such little hope

As walls diminish and hearts open up doors
We second guess the intentions of what's in store
But nothing that's easy is worth fighting for

The struggle is common for you and I
The battles we've faced has left scars we can't hide
To succeed not fail, is for us to decide

It's faith and trust your eyes provide
A trait in many, you just can't find
For once someting seemed certain, your love found mine.

  3. I like this. The words have a nice flow to the body and the sentiment is on point. I can relate.
