THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GLASS

You’re Right …

I live too fast
Drive too fast
Think too fast
And view life thru the other side
of the glass

I’m over-worked
And under-paid
Sometimes I over-look
Over-indulge
Under-study
And over-book
This life with tedious schedules

I’m over-observant
Over-concerned
Underestimated
And disconnected
Built on courage
And battled fear
Resembling now, a punching bag for 10

I stress too much
Don’t eat enough
Been a fool for love
More than once
I tend to over-think the obvious
And suffer from an incurable
Case of impatience

Queen of indecision
And procrastination
A slave to routine
And repetition
Sugar junkie
Loves spending money
Diagnosed depression
Won’t steal my smiles

I’m street smart
In love with the Arts
These hands were built to create a beat
Passion of the heart

You're right...

I live too fast
Drive to fast
Think too fast
And view life thru the other side
of the glass

  5. When we can feel happy being who we are then most everything else falls into place too.

  6. I really like that you manage to build suspense, leaving open the question "and so?" only to close with the finality that this is a statement of fact. "I'm" these things; that is all.

  12. Hey angel - this resounds with raw energy and enough personality to fill a pool - a real roller coaster and punishing investigation of personality told with a strong voice

  14. Wow .. the response to this poem has been incredible!! .. Its become one of my favorites so I'm glad you all can relate or understand where I am coming from. My music comes into play quite often with my writing scheme. I guess thats y I tend to rhyme alot. I'm very proud of the person I have become, never let anyone's judgement change that. Thanx again everyone!!

  17. Absolutely awesome poem Angel! I love it!!! I find it very deep, and I can totally relate to it. We do tend to rush through life, without taking the time, to relax and enjoy it, and appreciate it. Always on the go, under pressure. And a lot of the times, we tend to be held back by the negative side of Life, which seems to prey on our minds, such as inpatience, procrastination, and underestimating our unique skills, to name a few. A masterpiece. I'm impressed. Well written, and a great choice of words! You certainly painted a picture, of life on the other side of the glass! Much Love Paul OXOXOXOXO
