NEVER ASSUME

Never assume
That things will go your way

Never assume
That tomorrow will be a better day

Never assume
That there are more fish in the sea

Never assume
That one hit, won’t turn into three

Never assume
That words never hurt

Never assume
That once broken, it could never work

Never assume
People understand

Never assume
That someone actually gives a damn

Never assume
You know me

Never assume
You are getting the whole story

Never assume
For your most likely wrong

Never assume
That we belong

  1. Never assume one should be so guarded that it would be more beneficial to shelter rather than bloom. Break free and grow, with words so powerful and full of sorrow - I am awaiting the great transition into joy that your words could show. Your poetry bears heart and soul; it's beautiful words can be used to uplift, even yourself . . . remember that always.

  2. Wonderful use of repetition!
And very true, assumptions lead to expectations and expectations lead to pain when they are not fulfilled,
    Enjoyed reading this :)

  3. not every story has a happy ending Sandalgal .. although alot of my poetry in turn reflects a more postive outcome it can't always end in a fairytale fashion.never assume that by not "belonging" it can't be a positive direction. thank you both for takin the time to read and comment on my work. =)
